After returning home on Thursday, Edwards said, "It was a really productive camp. We got lots of work done and from a rugby perspective we moved up a gear and we were able to look at specific team building activities.
"The weather was very hot so it was like a warm weather overseas camp but with the advantage of being less than three hours down the road. It was good to spend time with one another away from the daily routine of training and the group has definitely come closer together.
"Everyone took responsibility for key elements of the week and that has helped move us forward as a group. We had a good meeting on Tuesday evening when we laid out the standards that we expect from one another on and off the field this season and the focus that is required for us to reach our goals this season.
"The players were drawn at random for their rooming allocation so it meant that the experienced guys were in with the young lads and the new players shared with players who have been here for a few years. The integration within the squad that this week has given us is invaluable.
"We now have two weeks to prepare for our first game of pre-season at Newcastle which is followed quickly afterwards by our game at the Dragons. We will up the level of contact the boys will do over the next fortnight to make sure that we are battle hardened and we are all looking forward to the next stage of the season," added Edwards.
