Speaking after the game Edwards said, "I think we were quite harshly treated in the second half, with quite a significant penalty swing to them, but we have got look more at what we did with the ball and we were a little bit inconsistent with it in the second half and didn't quite generate the kicking game that we spoke about at half time to find some field position so that was the biggest disappointment because in the first half we showed everything that we were capable of doing. There was a real physical approach to our defence and we looked sharp when we had the ball and that was probably the best 40 minutes of rugby that we have played in a lot of ways, which was encouraging."
Leeds Carnegie will return to Championship action against Moseley on Sunday at Headingley Carnegie and Edwards admitted that he some of the players' performances from the players in this British and Irish Cup had put them in contention for selection for the league fixture. He added: "Alex Rieder has been outstanding in both the British and Irish Cup games and his effort and attitude in both attack and defence and his break for one of the scores was brilliant so I think he has put his hand up for selection. I also thought Harry Hannan showed a real physical approach to his game, playing out of position, and his controlled aggression was impressive again today."
