Sam Lockwood has joined Jersey on a permanent basis
Following three months on loan with Jersey this season Leeds Carnegie can confirm that Sam Lockwood has been signed on a permanent basis for the Islanders for next season.
The loosehead prop, who celebrated his 26th birthday this week, has made six appearances for Jersey since making his debut against Bristol at the start of February.
Lockwood originally joined Leeds Carnegie in 2011 and made 45 appearances for the club, his last game coming this season in the British and Irish Cup win against Bristol.
Commenting on the move Director of Rugby Chris Gibson said, "We would like to wish Sam well with Jersey. It was nice to catch up with him on our recent visit over there and I know he is excited about the prospects there next season. He has been a model professional during his time at the club and he leaves with our best wishes."
Yorkshire Carnegie Head Coach Bryan Redpath has named his side for this Sunday's Greene King IPA Championship semi final first leg at Headingley Carnegie, kick off 3pm, with a host of players returning to action.
