Leeds born, Ben Sowrey, 28, joined Yorkshire Carnegie from Wharfedale. The hooker started playing with Moortown and played for Harrogate and in the Leeds Academy before moving to Doncaster and then Rotherham. In 2014 he signed for Worcester where he helped the team to promotion from the Championship and then joined Newcastle Falcons where he made 15 Premiership appearances.
He made his debut against Cornish Pirates in the RFU Championship Cup and was named as the vice captain alongside Joe Ford.
Whilst with the Warriors he won the British and Irish Cup and has also represented Yorkshire U20s, England Counties U20s and Yorkshire Seniors. His most memorable rugby moment was making his Premiership debut against Wasps.
He supports Leeds Rhinos, Leeds United and Philadelphia Eagles and the most memorable game he played in was for Yorkshire U20s at Twickenham.
His mum and dad have had the biggest influence on his rugby and he has a proud sporting heritage in his family with both of his uncles playing professional golf.
