Biography
Former Ireland U20 hooker Dylan Donnellan committed his future to Yorkshire Carnegie after agreeing a new deal for the 2018-19 Greene King IPA Championship season having originally arrived at Emerald Headingley on trial in September.
Donnellan was recommended to Yorkshire Carnegie by former coach Stuart Lancaster after the hooker impressed the former England boss whilst training with European champions Leinster this season.
Donnellan originally hails from Galway but he spent most of his rugby career in Leinster. He attended Clongowes Wood College before joining the Leinster Academy. He played for Ireland U20 at the 2014 World Club Championship in New Zealand, reaching the semi final against the hosts, whilst studying at UCD.
On his return, he headed to France to play under former Ireland Head Coach Eddie O'Sullivan at Biarritz in the Pro D2 competition, spending 18 months at the Basque club.
On his return from France, he joined up with his former Ireland U20 coach and ex-Wales boss Mike Ruddock at Clontarf. This summer he trained with Leinster before heading across the Irish Sea to Yorkshire Carnegie. He has made six appearances so far for the club, scoring two tries.
